CLECAT DEBATES REVISION WEIGHTS & DIMENSIONS DIRECTIVE
On 30 August, CLECAT was invited to participate in an expert hearing at the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) on the revision of the Weights & Dimensions Directive. This was the opportunity to present our analysis of the Commission proposal and give preliminary feedback on the draft EESC opinion.

CLECAT MARITIME LOGISTICS INSTITUTE MEETS
Members of the CLECAT Maritime Logistics Institute met yesterday to discuss the latest developments impacting sea freight forwarders, notably the evaluation of the CBER, the policy updates on the measures related the decarbonisation of maritime transport, as well as the implementation of ICS2 Release 3 for maritime transport.

SAVE THE DATE: ELP EVENT ON COUNTEMISSIONS EU
On 10 October, the European Logistics Platform (ELP) organises an event on the EU CountEmissionsEU initiative which is part of the Commission’s Greening Freight Package. The event entitled ‘CountEmissionsEU: Why transport needs more transparency in GHG reporting?’ will be hosted by MEP Caroline Nagtegaal (Renew, the Netherlands).

CLECAT calls for a fair level playing field for Austrian Freight Forwarders representing importers from other Member States
CLECAT, the European Freight Forwarders’ Association, has issued today a letter to the European Commission urging the Commission to take action against Austria to end rules and practices infringing provisions of EU customs and VAT law which jeopardize a level playing field in the internal market.

EC ADOPTS CBAM IMPLEMENTING REGULATION
On 17 August, the European Commission adopted the rules governing the implementation of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) during its transitional phase, set to commence on 1 October of this year and runs until the end of 2025.

AIR CARGO DEMAND SHOWS IMPROVEMENT IN JUNE
