Industry Calls For More Flexibility on Mobility Package I
Industry associations urge the co-legislators to take into account that EU customers and consumers will only benefit from a well-functioning EU road transport market if posting rules are flexible but enforceable, return of the vehicle is not mandatory, less restrictive cabotage rules facilitate the reduction of empty runs, and safe and secure parking areas are created prior to forcing truck drivers outside of the cabin for regular and reduced weekly rests.

Shippers’ and Forwarders’ Associations Commit to Accelerating Logistics Emissions Footprinting and Reduction
European shippers and freight forwarders are committed to logistics emissions footprinting and reduction. ESC and CLECAT stand for a universal methodology to calculate emissions from logistics operations, provided by the GLEC Framework, and support upgrading it into an ISO standard. However, this should remain a voluntary initiative led by the industry.

CLECAT Response to the EP Vote on the Mobility Package I
CLECAT takes note of the European Parliament's final position on the social and market related proposals of the Mobility Package, released in May 2017. Ms Nicolette van der Jagt, Director General of CLECAT, noted: “It remains to be seen whether the compromise reached on posting in international road transport will be feasible in practice. The patchwork of administrative national individual regulations will not be resolved by this for the time being.”

Industry Urges MEPs to Keep International Drivers Out of Posting Regime
The under-signed organisations representing freight forwarders and express carriers urge MEPs to exclude international operations from a lex specialis in view of its adverse consequences for road transport on the European economy and trade at large. Excluding international transport operations from posting of workers rules will support effective, seamless and reliable road transport operations connecting citizens and businesses alike in the periphery and the centre of Europe with each other.

Industry Urges EP Transport Experts to Keep International Drivers Out of Posting Regime
The upcoming vote on the report by Ms KYLLÖNNEN on the posting of workers in road freight transport is the last chance this Parliament can create a true internal market for road transport through better enforcement of social rules and increased efficiency in transport. The undersigned therefore call on EP transport experts across all political groups to adopt any provisions that would enable the full exclusion of international transport operations from posting of workers rules.

Stakeholders in the Maritime Logistic Supply Chain Call for a Repeal of the Consortia BER
CLECAT, ETA, EBA, EBU, ESO, IWT, ESC, FEPORT, UIRR and the GSF representing users of liner shipping services and service providers jointly conclude that the Commission should repeal the Consortia Block Exemption Regulation unless a revised regulatory framework clarifying the current BER is adopted.
