CLECAT PUBLISHED POSITION PAPER ON SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT INVESTMENT PLAN (STIP)
On 4 September, CLECAT released its position paper on the forthcoming Commission’s Sustainable Transport Investment Plan (STIP). Expected by the end of the year, the STIP aims to accelerate the decarbonisation of freight transport by outlining actions to boost public and private investments into renewable and low-carbon fuels, making better use of existing financial instruments while identifying needs for additional measures.

ICC DSI ROADMAP ON DIGITALISING GLOBAL TRADE
The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Digital Standards Initiative has published a new report, Digitalising Global Trade: A Roadmap to Interoperability and Trust at Scale. While the past two years have seen notable progress in legal reform and the piloting of digital solutions, the ICC DSI cautions that isolated initiatives risk creating new digital silos rather than building a connected system. The report therefore calls for a stakeholder-led approach that combines legal, technical and operational measures to ensure interoperability and trust at scale.

On 22 July 2025, the Benelux Committee of Ministers confirmed the extension of the long-running pilot project on electronic consignment notes (eCMR) within Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. First launched on 1 December 2017 and prolonged once in 2020, the initiative was due to expire on 20 August 2025.
