CLECAT ADOPTS POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE EU'S NEXT FIVE-YEAR MANDATE
On 19 June CLECAT held its General Assembly meeting in Brussels and formally adopted its policy recommendations for the EU's next five-year mandate. The policy recommendations serve as an invitation for discussion and dialogue with the European Commission, new policy makers in the European Parliament and other decision makers in Brussels.

INFORMAL DOMESTIC ADVISORY GROUP TO DOMESTIC ADVISORY GROUP MEETING (ON EU-UK TCA)
On the 28th May CLECAT joined the informal DAG to DAG meeting under the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement held to discuss the UK DAG report. The UK Domestic Advisory Group (DAG) has compiled this report to monitor and address emerging issues related to the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA). This report reflects the priorities of business, workers, and civil society and will evolve over time as the work of the subgroups progresses.

SCHIPHOL AIRPORT'S 747 BAN TOO SOON TO ADAPT FOR INDUSTRY
The Loadstar has reported on a proposed ban by the Dutch Government to restrict 747F flights at night at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport starting in 2025. The industry considers that this ban too soon to adapt to and could hinder air cargo operations.

On 4 June, UIRR, ERFA, Die Güterbahnen, and RailGood published a joint paper urging Member States to focus on infrastructure and safety rather than operating state-owned rail freight companies.

IMO MANDATES REPORTING OF CONTAINERS LOST AT SEA
The International Maritime Organisation’s (IMO) Maritime Safety Committee has recently formally adopted new amendments to its Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) regulations. and will require mandatory reporting of all containers lost at sea from 1st January 2026.
