EUROPEAN ASSOCIATIONS CALL FOR BUSINESS INVOLVEMENT IN EU CUSTOMS DATA HUB GOVERNANCE
CLECAT joined a coalition of 23 European trade and industry associations in signing a joint letter urging the Council and the European Commission to include business representatives in the working group on the European Customs Data Hub. The letter was sent today to the Danish Ambassador to the EU, with copies to senior leaders in DG TAXUD, DG Trade and the European Parliament.

Among other important topics aimed at improving quality jobs across the EU, the Communication acknowledges the legitimacy of subcontracting as a business model that supports flexibility, innovation, and access to specialised expertise, particularly for SMEs.

EU-UKRAINE INVESTMENT CONFERENCE BOOSTS PRIVATE SECTOR ENGAGEMENT AND TRANSPORT CONNECTIVITY
On 13 November, the European Commission convened the EU-Ukraine Investment Conference in Warsaw, bringing together over 5,000 participants from the Ukrainian and international business communities, government institutions, financial organisations, and international partners. The conference marked a key step in the EU’s strategic engagement with the private sector to support Ukraine’s long-term resilience and reconstruction.

COMMISSION PROPOSES TARGETED ADJUSTMENTS TO ETS2 MARKET STABILITY RESERVE
On 27 November, the Commission proposed targeted adjustments to the Market Stability Reserve (MSR) for the EU Emissions Trading System covering buildings and road transport (ETS2). These changes aim to improve market liquidity and reduce price volatility as the ETS2 prepares for full operation. The proposal follows recent agreements by the Council and European Parliament to postpone the start of ETS2 by one year to 2028.

PORT CONGESTION AND BELGIAN STRIKE EXACERBATE GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN PRESSURES
