LOGISTICS FOR EUROPE: BUILDING COMPETITIVE, RESILIENT, AND DIGITAL SUPPLY CHAINS

How can Europe keep freight moving in an increasingly unpredictable world? CLECAT and the European Shippers’ Council (ESC) will bring policymakers and industry together at Logistics for Europe 2026, taking place on 26 November at TownHall Europe in Brussels, to discuss what needs to change—and which solutions are already making a difference.

Opening keynote speaker Ewa Ptaszynska, Head of Unit for Transport Research and Innovation at CINEA, will explore how EU support for innovation can help build more competitive and resilient logistics. Professor Indra Vonck, Supply & Logistics Lead at BDO Advisory, will set the economic scene with an outlook for Europe’s transport and logistics industry.

With businesses facing rising costs, infrastructure bottlenecks and fragmented national rules, the first panel, Making Europe’s Transport Policy Work for Business, will ask where EU policy is delivering and where progress is urgently needed. Moderated by journalist Dave Keating, the discussion will feature Dario Dubolino of DG MOVE, Richard Marsh of Celanese and Rémi-Pierre Lapprend of Rail Logistics Europe, among others.

The second session will turn to the ideas and partnerships shaping the future of freight. Professor Lóránt Tavasszy of Delft University of Technology will open with a keynote on how logistics platforms and the Physical Internet can create more connected and resilient supply chains.

Moderated by Sophie Punte, Co-Founder and CEO of Life-Links, the panel From Ambition to Solutions: Innovating Europe’s Freight System will explore how businesses can respond to disruption, use available capacity more effectively and build greater flexibility into their operations. Szymon Oscisłowski of DG MOVE, Andreas Nettsträter, CEO of the Open Logistics Foundation, and Christian Löschen, COO of Zufall Logistics Group, will join the discussion on what is already working and what it takes to bring successful solutions to European scale.

Join us for an afternoon of debate, practical examples and exchanges across the freight transport chain, followed by a networking reception.
