EP ADOPTS REVISION OF W&D DIRECTIVE

On 12 March, the European Parliament in Plenary session adopted its first reading position on the revision of the Weights & Dimensions Directive.

EP ADOPTS ITS POSITION ON CUSTOMS REFORM

On 13th of March, the European Parliament’s first reading position of the Customs Reform was adopted with 486 votes in favour to 19 against and 97 abstentions. MEPs have endorsed the Commission’s proposals while introducing amendments to simplify procedures, and expedite the rollout of the new EU DataHub.

TRADE CONTACT GROUP MEETS IN PLENARY

On 7th March, CLECAT attended the 65th plenary meeting of the Trade Contact Group (TCG), which serves as a platform for consultation between DG TAXUD and representatives from the private sector on developments in customs and trade.
