COUNCIL ADOPTS GENERAL APPROACH ON HDV CO2 STANDARDS

On 16 October, the Environment Council adopted its general approach on the revision of CO2 standards for new-heavy-duty vehicles.

EP APPROVES FIRST SET OF ESRS

The European Parliament in plenary session formally approved the delegated act (+ annex) setting out the first set of European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). Some members of the EPP group raised an objection to the act which was rejected by a majority of MEPs.

EC PUBLISHES WORK PROGRAMME 2024

This week the European Commission presented its Work Programme for 2024, detailing the proposals and priorities that will unfold before the end of the current mandate. While the Work Programme calls for concluding ongoing legislation before the political recess, it also presents several new initiatives.

CLECAT RAIL INSTITUTE MEETS

On 20 October, CLECAT Rail Logistics Institute met to discuss its position on ongoing policy initiatives at EU level, including the proposal for Regulation for the use of railway infrastructure capacity in the single European railway area, the upcoming Combined Transport Directive which CLECAT hopes will be published soon and the Revision of the TEN-T Regulation.
