CLECAT WELCOMES REFUEL EU AVIATION AGREEMENT
CLECAT welcomes the provisional agreement reached, on 25 April, between the European Parliament and the Council on RefuelEU Aviation. The agreement is a significant step towards achieving the EU's climate targets and providing clarity to stakeholders on the future of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF).

MEMBERS STATES APPROVE INTRODUCTION OF TRANSITIONAL SMART TACHOGRAPH
On 17 April, the European Commission’s Road Transport Committee, composed of Member States’ representatives advising the Commission on implementing acts, approved the draft implementing act on the technical specifications for the transitional smart tachograph version 2, which will be introduced as planned on 21 August 2023.

WORLD BANK RELEASES LOGISTICS PERFORMANCE INDEX 2023
The World Bank today released its 2023 Logistics Performance Index report, a measure of countries’ ability to move goods across borders with speed and reliability. The seventh edition of Connecting to Compete, the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) report comes after three years of unprecedented supply chain disruptions during the COVID-19 pandemic, when delivery times soared.

CONTAINER SHIPPING RATE BAROMETER IN GREEN FOR FIRST TIME IN MONTHS
Drewry reported this week that the composite World Container Index increased by 4% to $1,773.58 per 40ft container this week, the first increase in 15 weeks. In comparison, it has has dropped by 77% when compared with the same week last year.
