ECTA GENERAL MEETING
The European Clean Trucking Alliance (ECTA), of which CLECAT is a member, held its general meeting on 7 November in Brussels. Members gathered to discuss the main policy priorities and the 2024 work programme of the Alliance.
Members of the Alliance first held a fruitful exchange with Ewa Ptaszynska, Deputy Head of Unit in DG MOVE who presented the Commission proposal on the revision of the Weights & Dimensions Directive and the aspects linked to zero-emission trucks. The ECTA Secretariat then presented the work programme of the Alliance for the upcoming year. As no major policy activities will occur during a large part of the year due to the European elections, ECTA will focus its work on outreach activities on the benefits of zero-emission trucks and share information about policies supporting a quicker decarbonisation of road freight transport. The next day, members of ECTA were invited to visit the Volvo Trucks factory in Ghent, which started assembling battery-electric trucks and battery packs in September 2023
