CLECAT ATTENDS ECCG MEETING
CLECAT participated in the Electronic Customs Coordination Group (ECCG) meeting on 2–3 October. The ECCG, an expert group of the European Commission, brings together Member State customs authorities and trade stakeholders to support the modernisation and digitalisation of EU customs. It acts as a key forum for consultation and coordination on the implementation of the Union Customs Code (UCC) and related IT projects.
The agenda covered a wide range of critical topics for trade. The Commission provided updates on the UCC IT implementation and the progress of the MASP-C dashboard, followed by detailed discussions on the rollout of ICS2 and the ongoing activities under NCTS and AES. Participants also received updates on projects such as the Uniform User Management and Digital Signature (UUM&DS), CCN2, the CBAM implementation, and the development of the E-Commerce Data Hub and the Data Lab.
The second day of the meeting focused on business and IT aspects of Centralised Clearance for Import (CCI), amendments to the data-related annexes of the UCC Delegated and Implementing Acts, and the state of play on cultural goods imports, the EU CSW-CERTEX Programme and Proof of Union Status (PoUS).
Through its participation, CLECAT ensures that the interests and concerns of freight forwarders, customs agents and logistics service providers are fully represented in these expert-level exchanges.
