EC PRESENTS ITS 2025 WORK PROGRAMME

On the 11 February, the European Commission published its 2025 Work Programme (CWP). Alongside the CWP and its annexes, the Commission released a Communication on implementation and simplification, outlining its plans to enhance the enforcement of EU rules, reduce administrative burdens, and streamline regulatory processes.

MEMBER STATES CALL FOR MORE EU FUNDING FOR TRANSPORT

On 11 February, eleven Member States, including Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, and Czechia, sent a letter to the European Commission calling for financial support to be prioritised for the development of the trans-European transport network (TEN-T) in the next EU budget.

European Shipowners (ECSA), Airlines for Europe (A4E), representing the shipping and aviation sector at European level, along with Transport & Environment (T&E) issued a joint statement this week calling on the Commission and the EU member states to ramp up the production of clean shipping and aviation fuels in Europe.
