CLECAT JOINS CALL TO MAINTAIN STRONG, CENTRALISED EU TRANSPORT FUNDING INSTRUMENT

CLECAT, alongside 44 other organisations representative of Europe’s transport sector, has signed a letter urging Member States and the European Commission to preserve and strengthen a solid dedicated European transport funding instrument in the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).

CLECAT FEEDBACK ON DRAFT LIST OF NON-EU TRANSHIPMENT PORTS IN FUELEU MARITIME

CLECAT submitted today its feedback on the draft Implementing Regulation identifying neighbouring container transhipment ports, according to FuelEU Maritime. We welcome the alignment with the existing implementing Regulation under the ETS Directive, excluding the ports of Tanger Med (Morocco) and East Port Said (Egypt) from the definition of ‘port of call’.

EU INVESTS €422 MILLION IN ALTERNATIVE FUELS INFRASTRUCTURE

On 6 February, the European Commission announced the selection of 39 projects across the EU, to support alternative fuels infrastructure. These projects, worth a total of €422 million, were selected under the first cut-off of the 2024-2025 Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF) within the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), the EU’s funding programme for transport infrastructure.
