ELP EVENT ON ZERO-EMISSION FREIGHT TRANSPORT ALONG THE TEN-T NETWORK

On 3 May the European Logistics Platform (ELP) organises a lunch event to discuss the challenges of securing renewable energy supplies and grid capacity along the TEN-T network. The event will be hosted by MEP Henna Virkkunen (EPP, Finland), member of the TRAN and ITRE Committee.

With the recent agreement of AFIR and the TEN-T revision, Europe is on the road to accelerate the transformation of freight transport. Given the targets for the use and deployment of alternative fuels and shore side electricity in ports, as well as the provision of charging stations for battery-powered electric and fuel cell trucks for long-haul heavy-duty transport, securing renewable energy supplies and grid infrastructure is a significant challenge. ELP is organising a lunch event to discuss the way forward, as all actors of the value chain as well as the public sector need to work together to make this green transport transition a reality.

Speakers include Aral Volskamp. Project Lead Sustainable Mobility (Port of Rotterdam), Lars MÃ¥rtensson, Environment & Innovation Director (Volvo Trucks), Lorenzo Lerra, Energy Sourcing Manager (Deutsche Post DHL Group) and Axel Volkery, Deputy Head of Unit, Sustainable & Intelligent Transport at DG MOVE.

Registration is open on the ELP website.
