CLECAT AT ETN CONFERENCE IN KRAKOW

CLECAT took part in this year’s annual conference of EurTradeNet (ETN), held in Krakow, Poland on 25–26 September.  EurTradeNet is the European Alliance of customs-related service providers (CRSPs)  a unique knowledge network joining together their local expertise in information handling services and communication solutions to assure the most effective implementation of eCustoms Europe-wide.

The event gathered representatives of the European Commission, National Customs Authorities, IT service providers and trade representatives to exchange views on the challenges and opportunities linked to the ongoing reform of the Union Customs Code (UCC), the rollout of its IT Work Program and the development of the new EU Data Hub.

Beyond the plenary interventions, the conference featured group discussions on the deployment of NCTS6, derogations under ICS2 Release 3 for road transport, and the complex relationship between NCTS6 and ICS2. CLECAT actively contributed to these sessions, offering members’ operational experience across different modes and Member States. The strategic discussions on the EU Data Hub also examined Council and Parliament amendments and the challenges of scalability, timing and trade involvement, with CLECAT providing input on the importance of flexible, transparent and workable solutions.

The Krakow conference once again confirmed the value of ETN as a platform for dialogue between customs, trade and technology actors. CLECAT welcomed the opportunity to bring the logistics sector’s voice to the table and will continue to follow closely the EU legislative and IT developments discussed in Krakow, keeping members informed of next steps.
