TLF PUBLISHES NEW STATISTICAL OVERVIEW OF EU FREIGHT TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS
Union TLF has published a new statistical report providing a comprehensive overview of freight transport and logistics across the European Union. Drawing primarily on Eurostat data, the publication offers an objective analysis of freight flows, modal trends and the evolving role of logistics in supporting the Single Market and Europe's competitiveness.
The report highlights the strategic importance of freight transport and logistics in ensuring the free movement of goods, strengthening territorial cohesion and supporting the EU's economic sovereignty. It also examines key developments in the sector's transition towards greater sustainability, including dedicated analysis of road freight decarbonisation and the changing energy mix of commercial vehicle fleets.
The publication which is supported by CLECAT, features a foreword by Magda Kopczyńska, Director General of DG MOVE, who underlines the essential role of freight transport and logistics in Europe's economy and emphasises the importance of reliable data to support evidence-based policymaking.
Designed for policymakers, businesses, researchers and all stakeholders involved in transport and logistics, the report aims to contribute to informed debate on the future of European freight transport.
