LOGISTICS FOR EUROPE 2024: RETHINKING SUPPLY CHAINS
On 19 November, CLECAT and the European Shippers Council (ESC) will host the third annual Logistics for Europe event, bringing together key stakeholders at the Representation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia to the EU. Under the theme "Rethinking Supply Chains," the conference aims to facilitate discussions among shippers, freight forwarders, logistics experts, and EU lawmakers on addressing the pressing challenges facing European logistics. The event will debate the crucial need for ongoing innovation and collaboration across the logistics sector to ensure that Europe remains competitive and sustainable.
The event will feature a lineup of speakers offering insights on key issues in logistics and supply chains. Keynote presentations will be given by Fotini Ioannidou, Director of the Waterborne Directorate at DG MOVE, Prof. Dr. Indra Vonck, Partner at MTBS and Klaus Dohrmann, VP of Global Innovation and Trend Research at DHL. In the 'Future-Proofing EU Policy' panel, Elisabeth Werner, Deputy Director-General for Policy Coordination at the European Commission, MEP Mika Aaltola, and Tomas Arvidsson, member of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), will share their perspectives on advancements in supply chain resilience.
Additional speakers include Frank Heijmann from the Dutch Permanent Representation to the EU, Professor Albert Veenstra from Erasmus University, and Enrika NaujokÄ—, CEO of CustomsClear, who will participate in discussions on supply chain security. Avra Tzeveleki of CEVA Logistics, Katja Idsinga-Schellaars of TEVA, Nancy Lindenhovius from Wilmar Europe Holdings, and Luc Pfennings from KPMG Netherlands will also share their expertise on balancing regulatory compliance with sustainable growth.
