ELP EVENT ON EU CUSTOMS REFORM
The European Logistics Platform (ELP)
is hosting an event entitled "EU Customs Reform: Industry Challenges and
Solutions" on 26 March 2025, from 16:00 to 17:30 at the Stanhope Hotel in
Brussels. Hosted by Dirk Gotink, MEP and Rapporteur on the EU Customs Reform
(EPP, NL), the event bring together Members of the European Parliament,
Permanent Representatives and ELP to discuss the implications of the EU Customs
Reform proposal on European shippers and traders, in particular SME’s.
Speakers include Olivier Thouard,
Global Customs Leader at CEVA Logistics, Arno Bijl, Head of Customs (Benelux)
at Siemens Energy, Nannette van Schelven, Director General of Dutch Customs and
Gerassimos Thomas, Director General of DG TAXUD at the European Commission.
Discussions will focus on the challenges and opportunities presented by the EU Customs Reform proposal, emphasising the industry's need for practical, efficient, and trade-facilitative customs procedures. The event aims to contribute to a more effective and business-friendly customs environment within the EU by fostering dialogue between policymakers and customs practitioners.
