COUNCIL ADOPTS REGULATION ELIMINATING EUR 150 CUSTOMS DUTY RELIEF FOR LOW-VALUE CONSIGNMENTS

The Council of the European Union has formally adopted a Regulation amending Regulation (EC) No 1186/2009, eliminating the EUR 150 customs duty relief for low-value consignments. This decision reflects the need to address persistent enforcement challenges, the rapid expansion of e-commerce, and the protection of the Union’s financial interests.

COM ADOPTS HARMONISED EU SPECIFICATIONS FOR RAIL DATA SHARING

Last week, the European Commission adopted an Implementing Regulation establishing harmonised requirements for interoperable data sharing in rail transport. The act introduces a new Technical Specification for Interoperability relating to the telematics subsystem (TSI Telematics), aimed at improving transparency, efficiency and digital connectivity across the European rail system.

EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT GIVES FINAL GREEN LIGHT TO EU 2040 CLIMATE TARGET

The European Parliament has formally approved the interinstitutional agreement on the EU’s 2040 climate target, endorsing the deal reached with Member States, on 10 February.
