EC CONFIRMS COMBINED TRANSPORT ADOPTION IN NOVEMBER

During the ENVI hearing in Strasbourg on 3 October, to approve Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič’s new role in leading the Commission’s work on the European Green Deal, Mr Šefčovič confirmed that adoption of the revision of the Combined Transport Directive would be published in November 2023.

REGISTRATION OPEN: LOGISTICS FOR EUROPE 2023

On 16 November, CLECAT and ESC will host the Logistics for Europe 2023 event, entitled ‘’Partnering Compliance and Competitiveness in the EU - Is it Possible?’’ The event aims to facilitate a constructive dialogue among industry representatives from freight forwarding, customs agents, shippers, and European policymakers to address the challenges faced by the European industry.

FIATA WORLD CONGRESS 2023

From 3 to 5 October, CLECAT participated at the FIATA World Congress 2023, hosted by Forward Belgium in Brussels focusing on the general theme ‘the changing world of logistics’.

WSC LAUNCHES CARGO SCREENING PROGRAMME TO FIGHT SHIP FIRES

Last week, the World Shipping Council, announced the launch of an initiative aimed at developing a software tool to detect undeclared (or misdeclared) dangerous container cargos and prevent deadly ship fires.

AIR CARGO DEMAND GROWS IN AUGUST

On 3 October, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) released its global air cargo data for August 2023, highlighting that year-on-year demand grew for the first time in 19 months.

EP FORMALLY APPROVES AGREEMENT ON ITS DIRECTIVE

On 3rd October, MEPs in Plenary session formally approved the inter-institutional agreement on the revision of the 2010 Directive on the deployment of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).
