EC RECOMMENDS REDUCING GHG EMISSIONS BY 90% IN 2040

On 6 February, the European Commission published a Communication recommending a 90% net greenhouse gas emissions reduction target by 2040 compared to 1990 levels, in order to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.

CLECAT ROAD LOGISTICS INSTITUTE MEETS

The CLECAT Road Logistics Institute met on 5 February to exchange views on developments affecting road transport and logistics at national and EU level, including the revision of the Weights and Dimensions Directive, CO2 standards for trucks and the Driving License Directive.

DG MOVE OPENS PUBLIC CONSULTATION GREENING CORPORATE FLEETS

The European Commission has opened a broad public consultation on the Greening of corporate fleets. In the 2020 Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy, the European Commission declared its intention to propose actions to boost the uptake of zero-emission vehicles in corporate fleets.

ESPORG INAUGURATES A NEW SSTPA IN BELGIUM

On 6 February, CLECAT joined the inauguration of a revamped Safe and Secure Truck Parking in Jabbeke (Belgium). It was followed by an ESPORG workshop to discuss notably of the upcoming SSTPA study.

EU COMMISSION RELEASES NEW ANTI-DUMPING COMPLAINT GUIDE FOR PRODUCERS

In an effort to support EU producers facing the challenges of dumped imports, the European Commission has published an updated guide titled 'How to Make an Anti-Dumping Complaint'. This comprehensive guide aims to assist EU producers adversely affected by unfair trading practices, specifically dumping, in preparing a complaint to initiate an anti-dumping investigation.

COUNCIL AND PARLIAMENT AGREE ON DELAYING SECOND SET OF ESRS

On 7 February, negotiators from the Parliament and the Council reached a provisional deal on an amendment to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) delaying the adoption of sector-specific standards by two years.

LITHUANIA AND POLAND EXPLORE POTENTIAL REGULAR FREIGHT TRAIN ROUTE TO UKRAINE

On 5 February, the transport ministers of Lithuania and Poland convened in Warsaw to explore the potential establishment of a regular freight train route connecting the two countries with Ukraine.
