CLECAT/TLF/CORE Workshop | Data exchange in logistics: how to enable a joined-up approach for trade and government | 15 March 2017

CLECAT, TLF and CORE are organising a workshop entitled  Data exchange in logistics: how to enable a joined-up approach for trade and government on the 15th March at the SITL in Paris.

The event will gather key policy and business leaders for a lively discussion on possible solutions for standardisation and automation in data analysis through advanced data-sharing for the supply chain visibility.

The CORE project (www.coreproject.eu) will demonstrate how a powerful and innovative Consistently Optimised REsilient ecosystem implementation, integrating interoperability, security, resilience and real-time optimisation can produce cost effective, fast and robust solutions. These will guarantee the efficient and secure transit of goods through the worldwide global supply chain system.

This EU-funded research project CORE project is steering towards the demonstration of, both integrity of data, and security of goods. To meet these terms, several trade lane demonstrators are being, or have been started, involving logistical service providers, transporters, as well as end-to-end business parties.

Some parties are working on a breakthrough in this project, by building the Shipping Information Pipeline, which enables all parties in the trade lane to exchange confidential information on supply chain events, and, at the same time, prove the continuous integrity of containers and goods throughout the total shipment.

During this session we would like to take you along in the developments of this open datapipeline platform. So the session will focus on sharing what business is doing and to receive input, to build the system in a way it can serve trade optimization as well as government procedures and controls.

These developments will be linked with initiatives such as the Digital Transport and Logistics Forum (DTLF) aimed at supporting the European Commission in implementing the Union's activities aimed at fostering more efficient exchange of electronic information in transport and logistics (between and within transport modes).
