Since 1 September, the Digital Pre-Notification has been included in the Ready-for-Carriage conditions at Schiphol Airport (NL), requiring local export cargo to be reported digitally via eLink. The aim is to make the air cargo process at Schiphol faster, safer and more efficient.  

Over the past few months, air cargo chain parties (forwarders, air cargo truckers, handling agents and airlines) worked on the project under the Smart Cargo Mainport Program (SCMP) 'umbrella'.  The parties involved in the project continue to debate how the further digitisation of the air cargo supply chain will take shape in the coming years.
