ELP EVENT ON EU CUSTOMS REFORM
The European Logistics Platform (ELP) is
organising an event on EU Customs Reform: Industry Challenges and Solutions,
taking place on 26 March 2025, from 16:00 to 17:30 at the Stanhope Hotel in
Brussels. The event hosted by Dirk Gotink, MEP (Rapporteur on the EU Customs
Reform, EPP, NL), will bring together policymakers, customs authorities, and
industry leaders to discuss the practical implications of the EU Customs Reform
proposal.
Speakers include Olivier Thouard, Global
Customs Leader, CEVA Logistics, Arno Bijl, Head of Customs (Benelux), Siemens
Energy, Nannette van Schelven, Director General, Dutch Customs and Gerassimos
Thomas, Director General, DG TAXUD, European Commission
The event will serve as a platform to exchange testimonies and experiences from businesses and logistics service providers navigating customs operations. Discussions will focus on the challenges and opportunities of the EU Customs Reform proposal, highlighting the industry's needs for practical, efficient, and trade-facilitative customs procedures. By fostering dialogue between policymakers and customs practitioners, the event aims to contribute to a more effective and business-friendly customs environment in the EU.
