CLECAT JOINS ECTA’S 5-YEAR ANNIVERSARY EVENT
On 4 November, CLECAT joined the European Clean Trucking Alliance (ECTA) in Brussels to mark its five-year anniversary. The event brought together policymakers, industry representatives and logistics stakeholders to reflect on progress toward zero-emission road freight and discuss the next steps for clean trucking in Europe.
The event opened with remarks by Kristin Kahl, Managing Director of Contargo Truck Fleet and ECTA Spokesperson, who highlighted Contargo’s significant investments in zero-emission trucks and the essential role of collaboration in advancing decarbonisation. Then Beatriz Yordi, Director for Carbon Markets and Clean Mobility at European Commission DG CLIMA, defended the Commission’s policy approach, including the forthcoming ETS2 for road freight transport (recently deferred by the Council by one year) stressing the urgency of emissions reduction in heavy-duty road transport. Milence’s head of public affairs, Koen Noyens, discussed charging-infrastructure and grid-connection challenges, while also presenting Milence’s rapid deployment of high-capacity charging hubs across Europe and its role in enabling cross-border zero-emission freight.
Over the last five years, ECTA has become a leading voice for accelerating zero-emission trucking and infrastructure deployment in Europe. As an ECTA member CLECAT continues to engage with ECTA partners to ensure that the transition to clean trucking remains both achievable and competitive.
