CLECAT WELCOMES ACTION PLAN FOR THE AUTOMOTIVE SECTOR

On 5 March, the European Commission published its Industrial Action Plan for the European automotive sector. The Communication outlines recommendations and upcoming measures to support the European automotive sector's transition towards clean, digital and increasingly automated vehicles.

ELP EVENT ON EU CUSTOMS REFORM

The European Logistics Platform (ELP) is organising an event on EU Customs Reform: Industry Challenges and Solutions, taking place on 26 March 2025, from 16:00 to 17:30 at the Stanhope Hotel in Brussels.

2025 ESPORG SECURE TRUCK PARKING CONFERENCE

CLECAT joined the ESPORG Secure Truck Parking Conference on 5 March in Brussels, where the European Commission, MEPs, industry representatives, and truck parking operators gathered to discuss the findings of the European Commission’s latest study on Safe and Secure Truck Parking Areas (SSTPAs) in the EU.

CLECAT ROAD LOGISTICS INSTITUTE MEETS

The CLECAT Road Logistics Institute convened on 3 March to discuss key developments impacting road transport and logistics at both national and EU levels. Members held an exchange with Mr Sean Sayer from the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) on the need for collaboration within the road freight industry to improve drivers’ working conditions.

COMMISSION IDENTIFIES SHORTCOMINGS IN SCHIPHOL AIRPORT NOISE REDUCTION PLAN

On 5 March, the European Commission adopted a decision assessing the Dutch plan to introduce noise reduction measures at Schiphol Airport. This plan is a step to achieve the ambitious goal of the EU's Zero Pollution Action Plan, which aims to reduce by 30% the number of people suffering from chronic transport noise by 2030.
