CLECAT CUSTOMS INSTITUTE MEETS IN HELSINKI

On 15-16 June, members of CLECAT Customs and Indirect Taxation Institute (CITI) gathered in Helsinki for a meeting hosted by FIFFLA (Finnish Freight Forwarding and Logistics Association). The meeting focused on several key topics, including the recently published Customs Reform proposals, which will have a large impact on the freight forwarding and customs agents businesses.

GERMAN GOVERNMENT APPROVES NEW TOLL SCHEME

The German Federal Government has last week approved important changes to the Federal Highways Toll Act. According to the German government the goal of this legislative proposal is to implement the change to the Eurovignette Directive that entered into effect in March 2022.

EC EXTENDS TRADE SUPPORT FOR UKRAINE

On 5 June, the EU has extended the Autonomous Trade Measures (ATMs), which include the suspension of import duties, quotas, and trade defense measures on Ukrainian exports, for another year. The decision reaffirms the EU's support for Ukraine and aims to alleviate the challenges faced by its producers and exporters due to Russia's unjustified military aggression.
